With its extensive expertise in linear image acquisition, VistaLink focuses on the medical sector. At least 50 Megapixels are required to accurately map all the components of a particular object. But an area scan camera with that image quality is not available. The same result is achieved by moving the object very accurately linearly in front of a camera scanning point by point and putting all pixels in a row. This application we apply to an auto-controlled cassette with all products for surgery departments. All parts in this composition have a very specific position. It is absolutely necessary to accurately measure them and also any unevenness in the plastic packaging. We solve this through linear image acquisition. With the use of one line scan camera and a telecentric lens we accurately record everything.
Our company implemented a 100% inspection system in collaboration with VistaLink to detect and prevent defects at customer level and to meet their quality standards. The system was able to check parts quality with more than 15 quality criteria on a total production of 275 Million units per year. Despite the complexity of the project itself, the system was successfully implemented in more than 20 manufacturing lines and the quality delivered to our customers increased enormously. It helped us to prevent defects and to improve our process.
